Medan, 19 April 2017; The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UMA, through its Management study program, conducts an Industry Visit (Fieldtrip) to the Bread-making factory (PT.Nippon Indonesia Corpindo) Sari Roti in Medan II Industrial Estate, Lubuk Pakam.
The student visit was led by the Head of Management Study Program Adelina Lubis, SE, M.Sc. and accompanied by FEB UMA lecturers, namely Amrin Mulia, SE, M.Sc, Eka Dewi Setia Tarigan, SE, M.Sc, and Yuni Syahputri, SE, M.Sc.
According to Head of the Faculty of Economics & Business at UMA, Adelina Lubis, SE, M.Sc, the activity of visiting factories is one of the methods of education in the faculty at this time. Students do not continuously study the theory, but directly see the development of the business. Adelina added, in the future UMA students have more relations with the private sector parties, so that the opportunity to increase knowledge and experience can be obtained by students, especially when the government is already running the Asean Economic Community (MEA) program in 2017, said Adelina.
Sari Roti Factory staff said that PT. Nippon Indonesia Corpindo is a company that produces Sari Roti food that is hygienic, healthy and halal, and its factories such as Lubuk Pakam are only in Cikarang, Pasuruan, Semarang, Palembang, Makassar and Makassar. FEB UMA students saw firsthand the process of making Halal, Healthy and Hygienic Sari Roti. Even Sari Roti staff explained Sari Roti business opportunities, challenges and business prospects. Sari Roti Factory staff said, students were very interested in the development of the Sari Roti factory business, this can be seen with many questions asked by students to Sari Roti staff, ranging from marketing, sales margins, and product distribution systems.
Sixty students attended a visit to the sari sari factory, which consisted of Semester IV students in the Management study program. The activity lasted for one full day starting from the departure to the factory from UMA Campus Jl.Sei Serayu No.70 A, on Monday, April 10, 2017. According to Head of Management of the Faculty of Economics and Business UMA, Adelina Lubis, that similar activities will be continue to be programmed for each semester at FEB UMA, because with this activity, students get real knowledge and experience and students are ready to face MEA competition going forward. said Adelina Lubis.
